The Town of Waxhaw has started work on establishing a park in the heart of Downtown. Partnering with Benesch, YCH Architects designed the facilities for the park, including restroom buildings, a small open shelter, a large event pavilion, and an amphitheater. The park will provide recreation, greenways, picnic pods, outdoor fitness equipment, and nature-themed playgrounds and is scheduled to be finished in the summer of 2023.
Under the same contract, a new restroom facility is being constructed at David G. Barnes Children’s Park. This building is currently under construction and should be finished by the end of 2022.
