The George A. Batte Jr. Fine Arts Center houses Wingate University’s Department of Music and also serves as the University’s primary arts and performance venue. This 46,000 sq. ft. facility houses a 554 seat auditorium with a full working stage, rigging, theatrical lighting, and sound, in addition to a 175 seat recital hall and secure art gallery. The Batte Center regularly hosts many regional and national professional touring productions. The fine arts center also includes classrooms, studio offices, a piano lab, choral rehearsal space, instrument storage, a music library, and assorted teaching and administrative spaces for the University’s Department of Music. In addition, the design includes and a large, sound isolated rehearsal room, which provides indoor practice space for the Bulldogs Marching Band.
