Based on the previous prototype design of another Union County elementary school, Poplin is designed for 850 Pre-K through 5th Grade students with the core capacity to support future classroom expansion of up to 1,000 students. The facility includes PreK-5 classrooms, art, music, computer, special needs rooms, resource rooms, administration, guidance cafeteria, multi-purpose gym, media center, video production, playgrounds, and ball fields. The building and site design incorporate many high-performance features for stormwater control, long life cycle building materials and systems, indoor air quality, energy efficiency, and daylighting.
